Surgical Physician Assistant opportunity in Stafford, CT
Johnson Memorial Hospital in Stafford, CT—a member of Trinity Health Of New England, the region’s largest nonprofit health system—seeks an experienced Physician Assistant to join our General Surgery Team.
This exciting full-time, Monday through Friday, inpatient position is ideal for a self-motivated Physician Assistant who is knowledgeable in the aspects of General Surgery and enjoys working within all the surgical subspecialties. The ideal candidate would possess the current skills to evaluate surgical patients, interact with the Multidisciplinary Hospital Staff, and assist in all aspects of patient care. This includes ER evaluation, admission and peri-operative management of in-patients for General Surgical Service, as well as first assisting in the operating room and some ambulatory office work is available if desired.
The applicant must be a graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program who is eligible to be licensed to practice as a Certified Physician Assistant in Connecticut. A current federal DEA and eligibility for CT Controlled Substance Registration will be required. The candidate must have certification by NCCPA (National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants). The successful candidate should have experience in the acute care/surgical setting or completion of a Postgraduate Surgical Residency program. We are open to highly motivated new graduates.
