Job Duties:
Evaluate and manage patients with diabetes and metabolic disorders. Employ diabetes technologies, including insulin pump therapies and continuous glucose monitors to optimize the care of patients with diabetes. Manage patients with endocrine disorders and other complex medical problems through interdisciplinary coordination, liaising with other specialists to facilitate holistic, patient-centered care. Provide advice to patients and refer healthcare providers. Order and perform tests and interpret results. Discuss diagnoses with patients, explaining treatment options and giving advice on medications, lifestyle, dietary changes and other preventative measures. Conduct follow-up appointments, monitor patient progress, adjust treatment plans and medications, and update patient records for endocrine patients.
Required Minimum Position Qualifications: Doctorate in Medicine, Osteopathic Medicine, or foreign equivalent.
Applicant must also have:
- Must be board-certified or board-eligible in Internal Medicine.
- Must be licensed or eligible for licensure to practice medicine in Connecticut.
- Completion of Endocrinology fellowship.
